There is an expectation that certain objects will be firm or rigid, and that items created from string or other fiber will be soft. Most expect the term knotwork to refer to craft jewelry or plant hangers. I seek to defy these preconceived notions, using knotwork to create strong three-dimensional sculpture.
We are all very tactile in nature. We must touch everything to experience it to the fullest extent. Working with fiber fills my passion for touch. My work invites others to touch.
